KKR's most expensive auction pick, Mitchell Starc, went for 55 runs in his 3-over quota vs RCB last night. However, in a major revelation, KS Bharat confirmed that Starc was carrying an injury, which led to a final over-blowout performance.

In an electrifying 223 runs chase, RCB nearly pulled off an impossible win after Karn Sharma slammed three sixes on the trot against acclaimed Australian pacer and KKR's expensive auction buy, Mitchell Starc.

Notably, Starc, who fetched a whopping INR 24.75 crores contract in the last auction, has failed terribly this year with the ball. He is getting hit all over the park consistently, and RCB's no.9 batter's carnage against Starc further raised questions about his potential.

Major update on Starc

However, in a major revelation, KKR wicket-keeper KS Bharat confirmed that Mitchell Starc wasn't 100% fit against RCB. Bharat was giving a speech in the dressing room following the 1-run thriller win, during which he mentioned that Starc got injured in his first over. 

Yet he bounced back and continued to bowl. While his performance may not reflect his true potential, KKR was happy with the resilience and grit he showcased yesterday.

Starc is a highly injury prone fast bowler and if the issue is serious, KKR might find themselves in serious trouble this season. Despite being second in the points table, the Knight Riders need to get their act together with the ball to ensure a deep playoff run.

KKR will next host PBKS at Eden Gardens on Thursday this week, and Mitchell Starc's availability status is still uncertain.
