Pakistan's newly re-appointed captain, Babar Azam, once again faced criticism for his questionable leadership tactics after Pakistan suffered a humiliating defeat against New Zealand's half-strength squad.
Babar Azam was handed his first international assignment after being re-appointed as the captain of Pakistan's senior cricket team months after his resignation.
The men in green faced a half-strength New Zealand squad in a T20 game earlier today. However, despite having a complete squad at his helm, Azam failed to lead his side to victory.
The top order, including the captain himself, batted with an abysmal strike rate, and if it hadn't been for Shadab Khan's 20-ball 40-run, Pakistan would have finished with a below-par total.

That being said, a New Zealand side filled with rookie players managed to chase down 179 runs total with 10 balls to spare. Chapman's 42 ball 87 run fiery knock left Pakistan in utter disbelief as they logged an embarrassing defeat.
Needless to say, Babar Azam was once again caught under the fans' radar for his questionable choices. Firstly, the omission of Mohammad Amir and Imad Wasim irked the fans, and the irresponsible bowling changes against Mark Chapman only added to the fans' frustration.
A lot of Twitter users came down heavy on Babar Azam and exposed flaws in his timid captaincy approach. Many feared that Pakistan's losing streak in Azam's captaincy might hurt the team in the upcoming T20 World Cup.
With a sensational win, the five-game T20 series between Pakistan and New Zealand is levelled at 1-1.
