In a low thriller contest, Gujarat Titans defeated the Punjab Kings at Mullanpur earlier today, which fuelled their playoff hopes to an extent.

While PBKS suffered a collapse, Harpreet Brar lifted his team to a respectable total. Yet, it wasn't good enough as Rahul Tewatia led the chase with a hard-fought finishing touch.

Here's the timeline of how PBKS vs GT panned out in Chandigarh-

PBKS Vs GT Highlights: PBKS batting unit collapses once again

PBKS' batting woes refused to relent as yet another collapse hindered their odds of finishing big while batting first vs GT. After a strong opening stand of 52 runs between Prabsimran and Sam Curran, the middle order contributed nothing, to say the least, as GT bowlers tightened the leash.

PBKS vs GT Highlights: Sai Kishore Bags Four-Wicket-Haul

With PBKS being 99/6, Sai Kishore sent Punjab's last hope, Shashank Singh, back with a sharp caught and bowled dismissal. Kishore not only jolted PBKS but also bagged a four-wicket haul for himself. However, Harpreet Brar's 12-ball 29-run finish saved the face for PBKS as they finished with a respectable 142 runs total.

142 runs total was never good enough. But PBKS managed to chip two big and quick wickets of GT captain Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan to stay in the hunt.

Stand-in captain Sam Curran was absolutely pumped as he cleaned up Sudharsan with a ripper delivery and perhaps saw an opening to limp back into the contest.

PBKS vs GT Highlights: Rahul Tewatia finishes a comfortable chase for GT

However, despite a quick fall of wickets, Rahul Tewatia showed some intent and calm for the first time this season, and his 18 ball 36 runs innings propelled GT to a successful chase with five balls to spare.

It was a much-needed win for the Gujarat Titans as they had the sixth spot in the points table, whereas the Punjab Kings fell to ninth place, and their playoff hopes diminished further.
