Rajasthan Royals skipper Sanju Samson has had an incredible IPL 2024 season, amassing 471 runs at a magnificent average of 67.28. Unlike the past seasons, Samson has showcased remarkable consistency this year, emerging as RR's go-to man with the bat in the tournament. 

The stylish Kerala batter's most recent exploit came during the Royals' latest IPL 2024 clash against Delhi Capitals. Chasing a mammoth target of 222 runs, RR lost two quick wickets before Samson ensured their fightback with an outstanding 46-ball 86. 

With Yashasvi Jaiswal recording regular failures, Samson has certainly boosted his chances of making it into India's World Cup XI through some scintillating performances. 

So, if Jaiswal doesn't regain his mojo in time and Samson continues to deliver with the bat for the Royals, we might actually see the keeper-batter starting ahead of his RR teammate in the marquee event next month. 


Will Sanju Samson be included in India's playing XI?

Given Samson's prolific success as a number three batter in IPL 2024, India might consider him to bat at that position in the T20 World Cup. Such a move will lead to Virat Kohli's promotion to the top, which most of the fans want, considering the talisman's exceptional innings-building ability. 

Therefore, if Samson gets preferred as a top-order batter over Jaiswal, he will bat at number three, with Kohli opening the batting alongside skipper Rohit Sharma. 

Suryakumar Yadav will likely be India's number four in that case, while there could be a toss-up between Shivam Dube and Rishabh Pant for a middle order batter's slot. 

Hardik Pandya and Ravindra Jadeja will be India's all-rounders, with Bumrah, Kuldeep, Siraj and Arshdeep leading their bowling attack.
