Another outstanding performance from the Delhi Capitals' (DC) star bowler, Khaleel Ahmed, ensured his side earned their first win this season in IPL 2024 over Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in Visakhapatnam.

Ahmed was handed over the ball at the beginning of the second innings and instantly left an impact by dismissing CSK skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad in the very first over. Then, we went on to trouble Ruturaj's partner, Rachin Ravindra, before eventually managing to get him, too.

Swinging the ball and troubling the batters with his gile, Khaleel was awarded the player of the match for his sensational spell of 2/21 in his four overs. DC managed to win the game by 20 runs after their batters were able to post 191 on the board, on the back of half-centuries from David Warner and Rishabh Pant.

Khaleel vows India return

Expressing his thoughts after the game, Khaleel was quite positive about his hardwork in domestic cricket in the last few months, which is now reaping its rewards. Speaking about his fitness and goals, the left-armer feels that red-ball cricket has taught him a lot, and in the upcoming months, he hopes to don the Indian jersey yet again.

"Have worked hard in the domestic season. Played a lot of matches in the last six months which has helped me know my game better. Love it when the ball swings and the batters get beaten. Have tried to figure out how I can keep myself fit. Red-ball game teaches you a lot about how the ball is coming out of the hand. Ultimate goal is to play for India."

Khaleel and the Capitals will next be seen playing against Kolkata Knight Riders on 3rd April at the same venue.
