Indian Premier League's (IPL) newest sensational story of Mayank Yadav, who clocked 155 kmph on his Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) debut against Punjab Kings (PBKS), has impressed everyone, including stand-in skipper Nicholas Pooran with his raw pace and three crucial wickets at a critical juncture.

Speaking after the game, Pooran, whose LSG defeated PBKS by 21 runs in Lucknow, spoke about the young pacer and his incredible spell of fast bowling. Pooran, who stood in for KL Rahul for this game, mentioned that Mayank is the story of the night for his brilliant performance, as he picked up player of the match on his debut.

Further, Pooran went on to laud the IPL for helping unearth such local talent as he got a life-changing opportunity. Adding ahead, Nicholas iterated that he is not just about pace but also accuracy, which was on display on Saturday.

"Mayank's was the story of the night. That was an inspiring performance, he (Mayank) is a young guy. He showed the entire world how good he is. He is not only fast, but also is accurate. It's the beauty of the IPL, gives the local players to perform. Wonderful platform. Every game is an opportunity, expect them to get better with every game."

Mayank Yadav's 3/27 in his four overs earned plaudits from all quarters, and we can only expect him to get better with time. Pooran and Yadav will be seen together playing against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) on 2nd April.
