Punjab Kings slogger Liam Livingstone nearly shattered the spidercam with his ferocious hit off Naveen-ul-Haq in match number 11 of the IPL 2024 season.

With chase already out of the equation for the Punjab Kings, the hard-hitting Englishman swatted Afghanistan-based LSG speedster onto his leg side, only for the ball to crash into the floating spidercam above the field. 

Livingstone ended up taking out his frustration by bashing two huge sixes and a boundary off the next three deliveries, before finishing his innings at an unbeaten 17-ball 28* despite battling injury.

Batting at number five, Liam Livingstone limped his way onto the field following the dismissal of Jitesh Sharma in the 16th over of the Punjab Kings innings. With 61 more runs to get off the remaining 28 deliveries by the time of his arrival, the equation eventually boiled down to 41 runs required from the last over.

Taking charge for the final six balls of the game, Liam Livingstone launched LSG fast bowler Naveen-ul-Haq with a ferocious pull shot, only for the ball to crash into the spidercam. Livingstone’s swat even seems to have stunned the ballgirl outside the boundary, before umpires declared it a dead ball altogether.

Liam Livingstone subsequently bashed Naveen-ul-Haq for two sixes and a boundary to accumulate 19 runs off the final over in a losing cause for the Punjab Kings.

Earlier in the match, the 30-year-old English cricketer succumbed to an unfortunate injury during the LSG innings. Inside the opening powerplay of LSG, Livingstone pulled his muscle while fielding at deep square, which prevented him from batting at the top of the order during the Punjab Kings run-chase.

As of now, it remains to be seen if Liam Livingstone will feature in Punjab Kings subsequent IPL 2024 challenge against Gujarat Titans. The match will be staged at Ahmedabad on April 4.
