A lacklustre performance from Mumbai Indians (MI) led to their fifth loss of the ongoing IPL season as Rajasthan Royals (RR) sailed to victory by nine wickets at Jaipur’s Sawai Mansingh Stadium on April 22.

Jaiswal’s unbeaten century ensured a comfortable victory for the home side. The RR openers provided flying start, adding 74 runs in eight overs. However, rain interrupted the game for approximately 40 minutes at the end of the Powerplay, during which 61 runs were scored.

Jos Buttler's dismissal by Piyush Chawla in the 8th over didn't deter Jaiswal, who continued to dominate, reaching his half-century off 31 balls. MI's fielding left much to be desired, with Nehal Wadhera and Tim David dropping catches, ultimately costing them the game by a big margin.

Commenting on Mumbai's performance against RR, Gavaskar remarked that the current team is unrecognizable compared to the one he is familiar with.

"I've been seeing Mumbai Indians since 2008, but this is not the team I know,”  said Sunil Gavaskar while doing commentary duties for the broadcasters.

Earlier in the match, MI won the toss and chose to bat, while RR seemed inclined to bowl regardless. Sandeep Sharma returned to the XI and achieved his career-best T20 figures of 5/18

Tilak Varma's impressive 65, along with his partnership of 99 runs with Nehal Wadhera (49), helped MI set a challenging target of 180. However, they fell short by ten runs compared to the average first innings score seen at this venue this season, and it proved to be the difference at the end.
