With a nine-wicket convincing win, against Mumbai Indians (MI), Rajasthan Royals (RR) make it 7 wins in 8 matches in the 17th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2024) and continue their reign at the top of the table.

Captain, Sanju Samson reviewed it and called it a complete team performance where everyone did their job well.

On their bowling, he appreciated how they started off and ended the innings but made sure to mention the efforts of  Tilak Varma and Nehal Wadhera against the spin duo of Yuzi Chahal and Ravi Ashwin during the 99-run stand.

"The credit has to go to all the players. We started off very well in the bowling powerplay and in the middle, both the left-handers [Tilak and Wadhera] played unbelievably well. The way they went after R Ashwin and Yuzi Chahal was great. The way Boulty, Sandeep and Avesh came back won us the game."

About the score being par to chase, how the pitch reacted under the lights and the impact of rain on this game, Samson felt that it was a par score to chase with the wicket getting better under the lights. He lauded the way Jos Buttler and Jaiswal batted after the rain break to settle down the things.

The RR captain also asserted his faith in Yashasvi Jaiswal, who smashed his second IPL ton on Monday; and how good he is, irrespective of the form he has been in.

"I don't think he needs anyone [to advise him]. He is always with a lot of confidence, we just knew that it was a matter of one game. The way he batted in the powerplay, he was calm, and composed and knew that things are under control. We knew in the dugout that he is playing some [good] cricketing shots and he'll be fine today."

Rajasthan Royals will next face Lucknow Supergiants in Lucknow on Saturday, April 27.
