Suryakumar Yadav blazed his way to a dazzling 19-ball 52 against RCB in match number 25 of the IPL 2024 season. His innings, coupled with Ishan Kishan’s 34-ball 69 helped Mumbai Indians mow down RCB’s 196-run total with relative ease as they catered themselves to their second successive win.

Hailing Suryakumar Yadav for yet another run-chase masterclass, former Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh heaped a significant praise for the senior Mumbai Indians batter during a recent interaction with the official broadcasters of IPL 2024.

Harbhajan Singh claims Suryakumar better than ABD

Harbhajan Singh praised Suryakumar Yadav after the latter pulled off yet another batting masterclass for Mumbai Indians.

The cricketer-turned-commentator believes Suryakumar is a “better version” of South African legend and RCB’s ‘Hall of Famer’ AB de Villiers in terms of shot-making range and match-winning knocks in IPL. While speaking on Star Sports, Harbhajan Singh said:

“Suryakumar is in a different league. When Suryakumar Yadav shines, no one can survive. We have all seen AB de Villiers; unbelievable player! But when I see this guy, I think he is a better version of AB de Villiers. He has won more number of games for his franchise than anyone playing now in this format.”

Harbhajan Singh further claimed that it is difficult to bowl at a raging Suryakumar Yadav, and the Mumbai Indians star will be his “first pick” at any IPL auction. The legendary off-spinner added:

“I have never seen someone dominating like the way Suryakumar does. Unbelievable. Where do you bowl to him? I am so glad I am not playing cricket now. At this age, where do you bowl to this guy? If I was part of any team, he would be my first pick, if he comes in the auction. But it's never going to happen.”

Emboldened by his match-winning knock against the RCB, Suryakumar Yadav will now turn up for Mumbai Indians in match number 29 of the IPL 2024 season against CSK. The much-awaited contest will also be staged at the Wankhede Stadium on April 14.
