Batting at number four and arriving to the crease following the dismissal of Rohit Sharma at 139-2, captain Hardik Pandya smacked RCB spinner Will Jacks for a huge six. The dashing all-rounder launched Jacks’ tossed-up delivery outside the off stump and deposited it over the long-on region.

The cricketer finished his innings at six-ball 21* and ended up sharing crucial partnerships with Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Varma to steer Mumbai Indians home at the Wankhede Stadium.

Earlier in the match, RCB posted 196 upfront courtesies of sublime half-centuries from Faf du Plessis, Rajat Patidar and Dinesh Karthik. Pandya bowled just one wicketless over in the innings to concede 13 runs. Jasprit Bumrah sizzled with a scintillating five-wicket haul, claiming figures of 5-21 off his four overs.

Mumbai Indians openers Ishan Kishan and Rohit Sharma, in response, shared 101 runs together in less than nine overs before Suryakumar Yadav took over with an attacking 19-ball 52.

Hardik Pandya will now lead his Mumbai Indians troops against CSK on April 14 at the Wankhede Stadium.
