In the latest development coming from the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) camp, Glenn Maxwell has suffered a thumb injury and is likely to miss the next match against SRH.

Maxwell likely to miss next IPL match

Maxwell blew up his thumb while fielding against the Mumbai Indians (MI) in their 6th IPL match and looked in some discomfort. As per reports, RCB won't take any chances and will make sure that Maxwell recovers for the second half of the season.

Talking about the RCB all-rounder, he has had a dismissal campaign so far. The right-handed aggressive batter was dismissed for a duck against the MI side and equalled the record for the most ducks in IPL history.

In 6 matches, the Aussie player has only scored 32 runs, at a dismal average of 5.33, which has been a cause of concern not only for him, but for the franchise as well, who have severely underperformed this season.

In the last match against MI, RCB were thrashed in a one-sided contest. Chasing 197, Mumbai Indians made a mockery of the target as they chased won the target inside 16 overs. 

RCB will next play against the Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Chinnaswamy Stadium on April 15. The team sits at the second last position in points table, with just a solitary win.
