The current IPL season has been marked by a flurry of record-breaking performances. Each match seems to usher in new milestones in batting prowess. 

During the recent match between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) in Kolkata, spectators were treated to yet another high-scoring encounter. However, veteran spinner Ravichandran Ashwin may not have been as thrilled by the proceedings.

The IPL 2024 has become notorious for its relentless onslaught of runs, rendering it a daunting challenge for bowlers. The 200-run mark is routinely surpassed with remarkable ease, thanks to flat pitches and the Impact Player rule.

In a remarkable feat, Punjab Kings successfully chased down a world-record total of 262 runs against the Knight Riders, surpassing the previous record set during a T20I match between South Africa and the West Indies.

Following yet another high-scoring encounter, Ashwin made a heartfelt plea, coming to the defense of bowlers who have found themselves on the receiving end of relentless batting assaults in IPL 2024. The ace-off spinner took to social media to express his concerns, posting a heartfelt message on X (formerly Twitter).

PBKS registered a historic victory by successfully chasing down a target of 262 runs, reclaiming their winning form in IPL 2024. Remarkably, they reached the target with eight balls to spare, asserting their dominance over KKR. 

Throughout the match, the Punjab team's batters outshone their opponents that underscored the trend of batters dictating the game while bowlers struggled to make an impact.
