Mohammed Shami, who has been sidelined from cricket due to injury, expressed his eagerness to return to the field.

Mohammed Shami, India's top-wicket taker in ODI World Cup 2023, missed the IPL 2024 season for Gujarat Titans due to an Achilles tendon injury. He had surgery and is currently in rehab.

Shami bravely played in the World Cup with this injury, taking 24 wickets for India. Now, he's paying the price by missing the IPL. He also missed the home test series against England earlier.

Gujarat Titans misses Shami more than Hardik?

After two successful seasons, Gujarat Titans are facing challenges this year, currently sitting at the bottom half of the points table in eighth position, just above PBKS and RCB. The departure of Hardik Pandya and the subsequent injury to Shami hasn't helped GT's cause.

Gill is struggling to regain his batting form of 2023, and Gujarat's bowling, led by Rashid Khan, is performing below their usual standards. Some analysts believe that Gujarat Titans miss Mohammed Shami more than they miss Hardik Pandya.

The 33-year-old took 22 wickets during the 2022 campaign, contributing to Gujarat's title win. In the following season, he took 28 wickets as Gujarat finished as runners-up.
