The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) bagged their second win of the IPL 2024 season as they defeated the Sunrisers Hyderabad by 35 runs. Choosing to bat first, the RCB totalized an impressive 206/7 in the 20 overs, owing to spectacular knocks by Patidar and Cameron Green.

Patidar's explosive knock saw him score 50 runs off just 20 balls, including 2 fours and 5 sixes, while Green remained unbeaten on 37 off 20 deliveries.

SRH start didn't start well chasing 207, as Head failed to give them a flyer start he used to give. Despite an energetic 31-run knock from Abhishek Sharma in just 13 balls, it was not enough to make the difference for SRH.

In addition to these, Markram and Klaasen did not perform for SRH tonight, as the match eventually went RCB's way.

Patidar hits quickfire fifty

Rajat Patidar delivered yet another match-winning performance on a challenging pitch, where even Virat Kohli and the SRH batters found scoring difficult. Patidar's quickfire 50 off 21 balls proved to be the decisive factor in the game. Notably, he smashed four consecutive sixes off Markhande's bowling.

"I was just keeping things in my mind that control the controllables. Whenever I go back home, I try to solve every problem which I faced. I go for skilful batting setup. Nothing like that (plan to target spin?). Today I was backing myself to be in good shape against every bowler."

Despite securing a win, RCB finds themself at the bottom of the table. Nevertheless, they still have a mathematical chance of making it to the playoffs. With five more games left in the season, RCB's next game will be against the Gujarat Titans.
