DC Pacer Penalised By IPL For Breaching Code Of Conduct; Check Details

Delhi Capitals clinched a crucial victory against the Gujarat Titans in Match 40 of IPL 2024. Young pacer Rasikh Salam Dar proved instrumental in DC's triumph, claiming 3 vital wickets during his 4-over spell.

However, Rasikh Salam faced reprimand for breaching the IPL Code of Conduct due to his excessive celebrations after dismissing Sai Kishore. Sai Kishore had hit Rasikh for consecutive sixes in the 19th over, who was potentially swinging the match in GT's favour.

 Nevertheless, Rasikh bounced back by dismissing Sai on the last ball of the over and celebrated wildly that resulted in disciplinary action. 

The IPL released a statement indicating that Dar committed a Level 1 offence under Article 2.5 of the IPL's Code of Conduct. He acknowledged the offence and accepted the match referee's sanction. It was highlighted that for Level 1 breaches of the Code of Conduct, the decision of the Match Referee is considered final and binding.


Rasikh shines in DC win

DC secured a vital victory against GT while defending a total of 224 runs, clinching the win by a narrow margin of 4 runs. Rasikh Salam delivered an impressive performance against GT, claiming 3 wickets while conceding 44 runs. 

He made an impact early on by dismissing Sai Sudharsan, who was steering GT towards victory with a brisk 65 runs off 39 balls. His second victim was Sharukh Khan, a potent big-hitter. 

Towards the end, despite Sai Kishore hitting Rasikh for 2 sixes and reigniting hopes for GT, Rasikh managed to dismiss him as well.

With the win DC climbed up in the points table and reached at number 6.
