Delhi Capitals (DC) seized a thrilling win over Gujarat Titans (GT), elevating their position in the IPL 2024 points table and keeping their playoff dreams alive.

Rishabh Pant displayed his peak form post-injury, crafting a remarkable innings of 88 runs from just 43 balls. He smashed Mohit Sharma for 30 in the last over of the innings, which included three back-to-back hits.

The Pant carnage contributed to Mohit Sharma conceding a record-breaking 73 runs, marking the highest runs ever given by a bowler in IPL history.

During this intense batting display, Pant accidentally hit a cameraperson as one of his sixes struck the IPL broadcasting equipment.

After the game, Rishabh Pant, accompanied by Ricky Ponting, came out to the pitch and apologized to the cameraman, prompted by Ponting who directed Pant to where his six had hit the cameraman.

"Sorry Debasish bhai, didn't intend to hit you but I think you can recover well and Good Luck," Pant said in his apology video.

Delhi made a crucial win

At the same time, Delhi Capitals secured a crucial victory against GT. With a spectacular display of power hitting, Delhi Capitals amassed 97 runs in the last 5 overs, largely thanks to Pant's carnage. Despite Miller, Rashid Khan, and Sai Sudarshan's impressive efforts for Gujarat, Delhi Capitals clinched the win by a mere 4 runs. Luck was on Pant and Delhi's side yesterday.

With this win Delhi Capitals climbed up the points table and is at 6th spot now.
