Yuzvendra Chahal created history in the match 38 of IPL 2024 between Rajasthan Royals and Mumbai Indians when he became the first man to grab 200 wickets in IPL. His landmark 200th wicket was of Mohammad Nabi and overall, the leggie has been quite impressive throughout this IPL 2024 season.

Yuzvendra Chahal joined Rajasthan Royals ahead of the 2022 season and since then in every season he has played, he has made his ball talk. His performances have made sure that RCB miss him badly, and with every Chahal's wicket, the debate around how big a blunder RCB committed by not retaining him after the 2021 season, gets louder.

Now, AB de Villiers, the South African and RCB legend has also spoken on this issue on his official YouTube channel.

He congratulated Chahal for his achievement and added that it was a heartbreaking moment for ABD when Chahal was left out of RCB setup. The talismanic cricketer also stated that Chahal was part of the core group of RCB and it was quite crazy to leave him out of the setup.

“Double hundred for Yuzi (Yuzvendra Chahal) with a ball in hand in the IPL. He's the first guy to reach 200 wickets, and the most impressive thing about this (is) it is in 152 innings. RCB let him go… I've mentioned this before: a heartbreaking moment when he left RCB. He was part of the furniture there and also the best bowler. It was crazy that he got left out of that side."

De Villiers also mentioned that it is hard to see him playing for another team and felt that he has done brilliantly for RR and has been a big part of their success in the last few years.

“It's not easy to watch him go to 200 wickets…the most successful bowler of all time in the IPL, and with him not being at RCB. He's been a huge addition to that RR squad, has done fantastically well for them and part of the success of this season for them."

RCB are currently languishing at the bottom of the points table while Rajasthan Royals are sitting pretty at the top of the table with just one loss in their eight games so far.
