Delhi Capitals' skipper Rishabh Pant has showcased exemplary batting form in the IPL 2024. Batting in the middle order, the swashbuckling southpaw has amassed 342 runs at an average of 48.86 and a blistering strike rate of 161.32. 

Considering his red-hot recent form, former Indian cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar has batted for his inclusion in India's T20 World Cup squad. 

Speaking to Star Sports, Manjrekar reckoned that Pant has the potential to bring his A-game in the all-important knockouts, something that keeps him ahead of his contemporaries in the pecking order. 

"The only reason why we are debating that is because of the option that we have. There is a Sanju Samson as an option and KL Rahul, two very exciting one. But the thing about Rishabh Pant and that is why I will back him all the time in the 15, in the playing 11 as well.Come the big stage, Semi-final of T20 World Cup, this is the guy who will get you a hundred in 60 balls and win the game,"  Manjrekar stated. 

Since making his comeback from a long injury hiatus, Pant has exhibited prolific form both as a batter and keeper. Given his exploits in the IPL 2024, his inclusion in India's T20 World Cup squad seems inevitable.
