Stylish Indian batter B Sai Sudharsan got a lucky escape during Gujarat Titans' ninth IPL 2024 match against Delhi Capitals at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. 

Coming at number three, Sudharsan steadied the ship with keeper-batter Wriddhiman Saha after Shubman Gill departed cheaply. However, he got a lifeline during his stay when Axar Patel dropped a simple catch. 

The incident occurred during the fifth over of the Titans' innings when DC skipper Rishabh Pant introduced Rasikh Salam into the attack in pursuit of a breakthrough. 

The seamer from Jammu & Kashmir created a chance instantly, coming from around the stumps. 

It was a good length delivery from Salam, as Sudharsan hoiked it in a bid to collect a boundary. However, he only managed to hit it straight to Axar Patel who dropped a sitter, giving him a lifeline. 

The stylish southpaw, who was batting on 17 then, eventually completed his fifty, keeping the Titans alive in the contest. Despite losing Saha and Azmatullah Omarzai at the other end, the Tamil Nadu batter continues to fight for the visitors. 

As of writing, the game was well-poised, with GT placed at 119 for three, needing 106 runs to win in the last eight overs.
