Experienced pacer Shaheen Afridi had a great outing in Pakistan's fifth T20I game against New Zealand in Lahore. The left-arm pacer played a pivotal role in the hosts' commanding victory, recording clinical figures of four for 30.

Afridi, who cleaned up Tom Blundell with a beauty to start the proceedings, returned to deliver a match-winning spell towards the backend of the innings.

The prominent speedster showcased incredible skills to get two wickets on consecutive deliveries, leaving New Zealand in disarray during the run-chase.

The incident occurred during the 15th over of the BlackCaps' innings when they were crawling back into the match, courtesy of a consolidating stand between Jimmy Neesham and Josh Clarkson.

However, Pakistan skipper Babar Azam's decision to get Afridi back into the attack worked wonders, with the ace seamer getting Neesham out with a well-disguised delivery.

After Neesham was caught for a rapid eight-ball 16, Afridi rattled Zak Foulkes with a toe-crushing yorker, bringing the Lahore crowd on his feet.

Although Clarkson kept fighting at one end, Afridi's magical spell turned out to be game-changing, reducing the hosts to 169 in 19.2 overs.

With the thrilling nine-run win, Pakistan, who received massive backlash after two successive losses, managed to level the series by two-all.
