Jos Buttler could not feature in the 27th game of Indian Premier League 2024 between Rajasthan Royals and Punjab Kings due to niggle and Tanush Kotian was provided with opportunity at the top of the order alongside Yashasvi Jaiswal. 

The Mumbai cricketer though looked out of sorts and ended up playing a very slow knock of 24 off 31 balls before eventually perishing off the bowling of Livingstone.

The wicket came on the second delivery of the 9th over and it was a fuller ball on the middle stump line. Kotian who was frustrated with his lack of timing danced down the track and tried to belt it down the ground. He missed it though, and the ball ended up knocking over the stumps to draw first blood for Punjab Kings.

After the wicket of Tanush Kotian, Yashasvi Jaiswal also departed on 39 and RR now need their middle order to step up again in a tricky chase.

Earlier, Punjab Kings scored 147 while batting first as their top order struggled to get going. Ashutosh Sharma though showed his prowess again and played a handy cameo of 31 off 16 balls, to put a respectable total on a sluggish wicket at Mullanpur.
