Sanju Samson had a mixed day with the big gloves behind the stumps on Saturday while captaining Rajasthan Royals in their IPL 2024 clash against Punjab Kings in Mullanpur. However, among many happenings, the way he inflicted a run out from nowhere, that too to get the big wicket of Liam Livingstone, made the most of the headlines.

The incident happened during the 18th over of Rajasthan's innings, when Ashutosh Sharma played a tossed up full delivery off Yuzvendra Chahal towards deep mid-wicket for a single. However, Livingstone, who was batting from the other end on 21 off 14 balls, thought to take a run extra.

Despite the fact that Ashutosh rejected Livingstone's request immediately, the latter was half way down the crease. Yet, no one thought a run-out was on as the ball, which was thrown by Tanush Kotian, was going away from the stumps.

Samson did not give up, as he flicked the ball towards the wicket soon after collecting it. The replay showed Livingstone was out of the crease when the stumps were broken, leaving the crowd in absolute awe.

At the time of writing this, Punjab closed on 147/8, with Ashutosh Sharma top-scoring a quickfire 15-ball 31.
