Conway, who was instrumental in Chennai's triumph in the 2023 season has been ruled out of the ongoing season with a thumb fracture. He established a formidable opening duo with Ruturaj last season, scoring 672 runs in the 2023 edition of the IPL. 

Amidst his absence and World Cup preparation, he made sure that he is there with the team to support them from the crowd.

Nevertheless, in the ongoing CSK-LSG encounter, his former partner Ruturaj Gaikwad put up a masterclass during his stay on the pitch for his 108*(60). On the other end, while Rahane, Mitchell and Jadeja struggled to scored good, but Shivam Dube made sure to compensate with his 27-ball-66.

The home team ended their innings with 210/4 from their 20 overs at the halfway stage of the match.
