On Friday, Team India head coach Rahul Dravid arrived at a polling booth in Bengaluru to vote in the ongoing Lok Sabha elections.

Showing his commitment to civic duty, Dravid patiently waited in line like any ordinary citizen before exercising his right to vote during the second phase of the Lok Sabha polls, which covered 14 constituencies in Karnataka.

The sight of long queues at polling stations indicated people's enthusiasm to fulfil their voting responsibilities. After completing his voting process, Dravid encouraged others to join him in casting their votes.

He was among the early voters in Bengaluru, casting his vote in Dollars Colony. Dravid's participation exemplified the importance of citizen engagement in the electoral process.

Earlier in the day, former Indian head coach Anil Kumble, Dravid's dear friend, and his wife Chethana Ramatheertha exercised their voting rights in Bengaluru early Friday morning.

Coming to his professional front, Dravid is closely monitoring the ongoing season of the IPL. With the T20 World Cup 2024 fast approaching, India will look to finalise its top 15 players by the end of this week.

During the England Test series, Dravid emphasised the significance of IPL performances in player selections, considering the limited T20Is played by India leading up to the World Cup scheduled for June.

Reports suggest that the selection committee led by Ajit Agarkar will convene with Dravid and captain Rohit Sharma later this week to deliberate on the World Cup squad.

The deadline for squad submission is May 1, and the tournament commences on June 2 in the USA.
