Mumbai Indians members Tim David and Kieron Pollard were found guilty of breaching the IPL’s Code of Conduct during their recent game against Punjab Kings and the offence article suggests that the duo were fined for helping Suryakumar Yadav with a DRS referral.

MI and PBKS were involved in a close thriller clash earlier this week where a young Ashutosh Sharma nearly outclassed Mumbai Indians with his brilliance on the crease.

While MI held nerves to cross the finish line, a controversial moment insinuated cheating allegations against the franchise.

In the 15th over of the first innings, Arshdeep Singh’s wide yorker was deemed a fair delivery, but SKY was skeptical about reviewing the decision until he received help from the dugout.

Tim David and Kieron Pollard gestured that it was indeed a wide delivery and that Surya should send it upstairs for a check. The on-field decision was subsequently overturned after the third umpire’s video check.

However, the incident was caught on camera and upon review, IPL authorities have imposed a fine on David and Pollard for breaching the league’s code of conduct. The duo were found in violation of Article 2.20 which states infringement of the spirit of the game.

While IPL officials didn’t specify the incident in their statement, it was quite obvious that it was related to the wide call incident, given the stir it caused on the internet.

Both Tim David and Kieron Pollard have accepted the Level 1 charges of infringement and have been ordered to pay 20% of their match fees as a fine.
