In the second T20I match against New Zealand in Rawalpindi, Pakistan's wicketkeeper Mohammad Rizwan achieved the milestone of becoming the fastest player to score 3,000 T20I runs.

The 31-year-old Rizwan reached this milestone during his unbeaten innings of 45 runs against New Zealand, contributing to Pakistan's chase of a small target of 91, which they successfully chased down the target in just 12.1 overs.

In his 79th T20I appearance, Mohammad Rizwan surpassed Pakistan's captain, Babar Azam, and India's cricket icon, Virat Kohli, both of whom achieved the milestone of 3,000 runs in their 81st T20I match.

Among international T20 circuits, only eight players have surpassed the 3,000-run mark, with India's Virat Kohli leading the charts with an impressive 4,037 runs in 117 games.

Pakistan beats New Zealand in ease

Pakistan secured victory in the 2nd T20I of the series, taking a lead of 1-0, as the first match was abandoned due to rain.

New Zealand opted to send a frail team to Pakistan, which was intended to serve as preparation for the upcoming T20 World Cup for both teams. .

This decision faced criticism from Pakistani media and fans for sending a relatively weaker squad. Michael Bracewell, returning from a long injury, led the Kiwi side in the absence of Kane Williamson, who is with Gujarat Titans in the IPL.
