'Ponting, Ganguly Would Be Like...': Twitter Reacts As Warner Continues His 'Flop Show' in IPL 2024

David Warner's performance in the IPL 2024 season for the Delhi Capitals hasn't lived up to expectations. After taking on the captaincy in 2023 in the absence of Rishabh Pant, Warner returned this season as the senior-most player and the opener for DC.

However, despite his experience and past successes, Warner has struggled to make a significant impact with the bat.

In seven innings so far, he has only managed to accumulate 167 runs, which falls below the standards Warner has set in the IPL.

DC fans frustrated in Warner's average display in IPL 2024

David Warner opened the batting for the Delhi Capitals, aiming to chase down a tough target of 267 SRH set. However, his innings was short-lived as he fell victim to a well-executed knuckleball from Bhuvneshwar Kumar

Despite Warner's attempt to read the delivery, he ended up edging it, only to see his fellow countryman, Pat Cummins, dive to take a stunning catch.

Following Warner's dismissal, irate DC fans took to social media, particularly platforms like X, to vent their frustration at his poor form and crucial wicket loss.

One trending video featured an AI-generated deepfake of DC mentors Ganguly and Ponting expressing dismay at Warner's ongoing struggles quoting to his old great performances.

Given Warner's successful stint as captain with SRH, some fans believe he might find a sense of satisfaction after his poor batting performance against his former team, in a troll sense.

Despite being one of the greatest IPL batters of all time, David Warner has faced calls from some fans to retire from the sport. These fans argue that Warner has passed his prime and should step away from cricket.

While it's acknowledged that Warner may be past his prime, there remains optimism among some fans that he still has some cricket left in him. These positive supporters are rooting for the legend to prove himself in the upcoming games.
