In a significant development, Royal Challengers Bengaluru have won the toss and elected to bowl first in their eighth IPL 2024 group-stage match against Kolkata Knight Riders.

The visitors have made three changes to their team, bringing Cameron Green, Mohammed Siraj and Karn Sharma back into the playing XI. Reece Topley and Saurav Chauhan have been dropped, while Vyshak Vijaykumar is among the impact substitutes.

At toss, RCB captain Faf du Plessis emphasised on adapting to the conditions, saying,

"We are going to chase. This is a chasing ground and we will look to bat second. It was a nice place to be here last day. We were here at the same time yesterday and it became cooler after an hour or so. So, we will look to adapt to the conditions."

On the other hand, KKR skipper Shreyas Iyer revealed they would try to tire out their opponents under the hot and humid conditions.

"See, we played the last afternoon game here. We know how it plays. We know that it's going to be slow. We would have loved to bowl first. Knowing that we are batting first and it's stiflingly hot, we will try to tire them out as much as possible," Iyer said.
