Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) will play against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) on Sunday at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata.

The Shreyas Iyer-led KKR has had an impressive start in the IPL 2024 and is placed third on the points table. One of the prime reasons for their success in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 has been Sunil Narine's form with the bat.

In the ongoing cash-rich league, he has scored 276 runs in 6 matches with one half-century and an explosive century against RR.

Meanwhile, the legendary West Indies spinner has also scalped 7 wickets with an economy of 6.88.

Talking about Narine's prowess as a spinner, KKR mentor Gautam Gambhir has called him the Greatest Bowler in history of the league.

Gambhir also recalled the time when he first saw Narine in 2011. The KKR mentor wanted to get the services of the all-rounder in IPL after seeing his bowling skill and ability as a spinner.

"I must have faced seven or eight deliveries and I thought this is the guy who is going to go out there and become the legend of the game, especially in T20 cricket. See where is Sunil Narine now? Probably the greatest bowler in IPL history," Gambhir said in KKR Knights Dugout Podcast.

Sunil Narine has scalped 170 wickets in his IPL career so far with an economy of 6.74. The 35-year-old cricketer has also shown his batting ability and has scored 1322 runs with a strike rate of 164.84.

The Trinidadian cricketer has stolen the show and grabbed the limelight in 2024, after he smashed his first T20 century on April 16, 2024, against Rajasthan Royals. He smashed a 49-ball century that included eleven fours and six maximums.

He is the third batter from Kolkata Knight Riders to score a hundred after Brendon Mccullum and Venkatesh Iyer.

Kolkata Knight Riders will host Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the iconic Eden Gardens on April 21, 2024.
