'People Forget Age...': Yuvraj Warns Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma Ahead of T20 WC 2024

Former World Cup winner Yuvraj Singh has offered some insights into the future of Indian cricket stars Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli post the T20 World Cup.

Rohit Sharma is leading the Indian team to the USA and the West Indies for the T20 World Cup, and it is very likely that Virat Kohli will be in the team for the World Cup, although there were rumors initially that he wouldn't be considered.

Retired legend Yuvraj Singh spoke about the potential Kohli and Rohit inclusion for the 15-member squad in the World Cup. 

"As you get older people start talking about your age and they forget about your form. These guys have been great players for India and they deserve to go (retire) when they want. After this (T20) World Cup I would like to see a lot of younger guys come into the team and make the T20 side for the next World Cup"-Yuvraj said.

However, Yuvraj Singh believes the experience of both the veteran plays will come useful at slow Caribbean pitches and untested USA pitches. But he would like to see youngsters after this World Cup. 

Current form of Rohit and Kohli

Both the senior players are in good form in the IPL. Virat Kohli is the current holder of the orange cap in this IPL, while Rohit Sharma is Mumbai Indians' top scorer. 

Both veterans have also scored a century each as well. However, the strike rate at which they play has been a point of discussion, especially Virat Kohli's.

This could be the last time Kohli and Rohit play for a T20I championship. Rohit had already won it in 2007 and it is the last chance for Kohli to win the title.
