In a heart-stopping clash at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, the Delhi Capitals(DC) clinched a crucial win against the Gujarat Titans(GT) by a razor-thin margin of 4 runs.

The match, marked by nail-biting suspense, saw DC displaying remarkable resilience to defend their total of 224 runs.

Captain Rishabh Pant emerged as the Player of the match, delivering a scintillating unbeaten knock of 88 runs, ably supported by all-rounder Axar Patel's impressive 66 runs. Despite early setbacks, the duo forged a crucial partnership of 113 runs, steering their team towards a competitive total.

Reflecting on his strategic decisions, Pant remarked, "I think we have seen it before that Nortje has struggled a bit in the past. He has had a tough time in the death overs. T20 is a funny game."

Pant's astute decision to back bowler Rasikh Salam in the crucial moments paid off handsomely, as Salam scalped three vital wickets, turning the tide in Delhi's favour.

"At 44/3, we (Axar and Pant) had a simple conversation. The only conversation between Axar and me was to keep going and target their main spinners," Pant shared, highlighting the pivotal partnership that anchored their innings.

The DC’s victory keeps their playoff aspirations alive as they gear up to face the Mumbai Indians in their upcoming fixture on April 27. With the team's morale boosted by this thrilling win, fans can expect an intense showdown as both teams vie for a coveted playoff spot.
