Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will seek to regain momentum in what has been a start-stop campaign as they face Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the reverse fixture at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium on Tuesday.

Just a few days ago, LSG showed their capability to compete head-to-head with CSK and emerge victorious. However, defeating Chennai in their own stronghold will pose a formidable challenge.

Chepauk has been Chennai's fortress for years, consistently producing 4-6 wins in a season, a significant factor in their success.

Although KL Rahul's men emerged victorious at the Ekana three days ago, the atmosphere will be different as they step into MS Dhoni's domain. CSK will be looking to avenge their earlier loss to LSG in Lucknow this season.

When LSG met CSK in Lucknow

In their recent encounter in Lucknow, Chennai suffered early setbacks with the dismissal of Rachin Ravindra and later their skipper, Ruturaj Gaikwad. Ajinkya Rahane and Ravindra Jadeja steadied the innings, with Jadeja eventually scoring his first fifty of the season.

Despite losing wickets in the middle-overs, Jadeja stood tall at one end on a challenging surface. Moeen Ali's aggressive play, including three consecutive sixes off Ravi Bishnoi, added impetus to the innings. MS Dhoni's late flourish propelled Chennai to 176 runs.

Lucknow began their chase of 177 runs with an ideal start, as KL Rahul capitalized on the fielding restrictions. He was well supported by Quinton de Kock. The duo's solid partnership of 134 set the stage for a comfortable victory.

Although Rahul departed after scoring 82 runs, Nicholas Pooran and Marcus Stoinis ensured Lucknow's victory with an over to spare.
