In a high-octane clash between Delhi Capitals (DC) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the IPL 2024 at Vizag, the latter's chase of 192 runs got off to a rocky start as DC pacer Khaleel Ahmed struck early in the innings, dismissing Ruturaj Gaikwad in the very first over.

The CSK skipper's departure came with just two balls faced, leaving his team at 4 for 1 in 2 overs. Gaikwad's attempt to drive a good length delivery outside off resulted in a faint inside edge, which was safely pouched by the vigilant Rishabh Pant behind the stumps.

Watch - Ruturaj Gaikwad departs 

With the early departure of their captain, CSK found themselves in need of stability. Veteran batter Ajinkya Rahane stepped in as the new batsman, tasked with steadying the innings and steering the chase towards the formidable target set by DC.

DC had earlier posted a challenging total of 191/5 in their allotted 20 overs, courtesy of impressive fifties from Rishabh Pant and David Warner. 

However, CSK's experienced lineup was expected to pose a strong challenge in the chase.
