You can’t give Nicholas Pooran a lifeline when he is in the middle of a T20 innings. And RCB made that big mistake, and it was Anuj Rawat who made the blunder.

After winning the toss and opted to field first, Faf du Plessis were never in a great position to send LSG on the back foot. It was largely due to Quinton de Kock’s thunderous prowess, as LSG closed on 181/5, with Pooran finishing with a quickfire 21-ball 40.

Nevertheless, Pooran could have gone for just two runs had Anuj Rawat taken the catch with big gloves after calling for it.

It was the third ball of the 17th over of LSG’s innings, bowled by Reece Topley when Pooran failed to read a back-of-the-hand slow ball and got a massive top-edge. Rawat, who was keeping behind the wickets, called for it while the ball was high above the sky. He kept his eyes on the ball while it was coming down to backward short leg.

However, Rawat failed to succeed, as he could not hang on after diving forward.
