Swashbuckling English batter Will Jacks recorded a rare failure in the IPL 2024 as he was castled by Mayank Markande in the ongoing encounter against Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Rajiv Gandhi International stadium.

The incident occurred during the seventh over of RCB's innings when they had just lost skipper Du Plessis, who was looking set in the middle. SRH skipper Pat Cummins' decision to bring Markande into the attack proved to be a masterstroke, with the wrist-spinner castling Jacks.

The young leg spinner started his over on a positive note, conceding only four runs off his first five deliveries. His nagging accuracy gradually put Jacks under the pump, as the batter became desperate to break the shackles.

To conclude his over, Markande bowled a flighted delivery, luring Jacks to play a big shot. The batter fell in the trap only to get comprehensively beaten and see the ball shattering the stumps.

As soon as Markande dismissed Jacks, SRH owner Kavya Maran seemed ecstatic, expressing her happiness in the stands.

However, after Jacks departed, Rajat Patidar played a blinder to bring RCB's innings back on track. As of writing, the visitors were 129 for 12.2, with Patidar and Kohli unbeaten in the middle.
