The former Afghanistan captain Gulbadin Naib did not play in either of the first two ODIs against Pakistan. On his return during the third and final match of the series, he grabbed two wickets in his first three overs, taking advantage of the opportunity.

More significantly, Naib got rid of both Pakistani openers Fakhar Zaman and Imam-ul-Haq. Fakhar, who did not have memorable outings, was the first man to be dismissed for 27. Then, four overs later, he got the dangerous Imam-ul-Haq, who made 61 and 91 in his previous two outings.

From the start of his spell, Naib was incredibly accurate, and it paid off with two important wickets. The Pakistani opener could only manage to get a thick outside edge when Imam attempted to play his short-of-a-good-length delivery with a wild swing. Rahmanullah Gurbaz, who comfortably took the catch to end his stay, had the ball come directly into his big gloves.

Comeback Man Gulbadin Naib gets Imam-ul-Haq to Shock Pakistan

At the time of writing, Pakistan are batting on 77/2 after 24 overs, with Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan on strike. Gulbadin Naib was so good after his six overs, returning excellent figures of 2/11.
