RCB lost captain Faf du Plessis against the run of play as Joshua Little provided a much needed breakthrough for GT after RCB unleashed carnage in the powerplay.

Gujarat Titans were trashed at home in Ahmedabad by Royal Challengers Bengaluru after Mohammad Siraj and Yash Dayal’s dream spells restricted Shubman Gill and Co. to a below par total of 147 runs.

Meanwhile, RCB were in some sort of hurry as openers Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis unleashed fifth gear in the chase.

After a 14-run first over, du Plessis channelled his inner beat to hammer literally every bowler that came his sight. He raced to his half century in his 18 balls as RCB brought up 90 runs in just first five overs of the chase.

However, as RCB were cruising comfortably in the chase, skipper Faf du Plessis holed out to short fine leg against the run of play. Joshua Little surprised Faf with a 139.6 kph short ball and in a rush of blood, the captain went early for a pull.

Faf eventually got cramped up and due to lack of room, his top edge went straight to the safe hands of Shah Rukh Khan at short fine leg as GT breathed a sigh of relief from the unreal carnage.

Meanwhile, Joshua Little was absolutely jubilant as GT saw an opening despite a strong and blazing start from RCB.

Notably, RCB does not have much to gain from this game besides ditching the bottom place of the points table as their playoff odds are close to negligible with just 6 points in 10 games.  However, on the flip side, RCB seems to be spoiling GT's party on their way out.
