In a significant development, Lucknow Super Giants have won the toss and elected to bowl first in their eighth IPL 2024 match against Chennai Super Kings. The Super Kings have dropped Rachin Ravindra, bringing in Daryl Mitchell back into the playing XI. 

At toss, LSG skipper KL Rahul reckoned that they would bowl first, keeping the dew factor in mind. 

"We will bowl first. The only reason I can come up with is dew. We trained here yesterday and there is a bit of dew that will make an impact in the second innings. So, we're just looking to probably bolster our batting considering the dew coming in and the wicket appearing a bit slowish. Hopefully, we can put their batters under pressure and make them set a target," Rahul said. 

On the other hand, Rahul's CSK counterpart Ruturaj Gaikwad revealed that they would've bowled first as well, saying, 

 "Something to work on for me is the coin toss. I've been losing it 7 times now. Nothing new for us batting first. I would say some amount of dew in the later half but you never know how this wicket surprises you so really looking forward to it."
