Asia Cup 2022: Pakistan pacer Shahnawaz Dahani ruled out of the clash against India

According to the latest reports, Pakistan pacer Shahnawaz Dahani will not be available for the high-octane clash against India on Sunday (4 September). 

Dahani is said to have sustained a side strain during the game against Hong Kong on Friday, wherein he returned with figures of 1/7 in two overs. 



The medical team of the Pakistan management will observe his injury for the next 48-72 hours. Following the process, they will make decisions on the participation of Dahani for the rest of the tournament. 

In Pakistan's Asia Cup opener against India, the 24-year-old contributed 16 and put optimum pressure with the bowl to finish with 0/29 in four overs. 

In place of Dahani, the experienced pacer Hasan Ali is expected to feature in the Pakistan line-up for a crucial encounter. 


Pakistan pacers tryst with injuries 

Following the latest development, the injury concerns for Pakistan have amounted to 3. Earlier, the likes of Shaheen Afridi and Mohammad Wasim Jr were ruled out of the Asia Cup as well. 

The current pace-bowling unit will comprise Naseem Shah, Haris Rauf, Mohammad Hasnain and Ali, until any replacement is announced by the Pakistan Cricket Board.
