The Mitchell Santner-led New Zealand will square off against Scotland in the only ODI, scheduled to be played at Grange Cricket Club, Edinburgh, Scotland on Sunday, July 31.

New Zealand were the dominant force in the two-match T20I series, registering a 2-0 clean sweep over Scotland by butchering them on both occasions with a huge margin.

The Scottish bowlers looked tumultuous in the T20I series as they conceded way too many runs. The Richie Berrington-led unit will look to improve their execution in the only ODI against the Black Caps at home.

Key Players

  • Finn Allen whacked a whirlwind century in the first T20I and emerged as the top run-scorer for the Kiwis in the T20I series with 107 runs in 2 matches.
  • Mark Chapman is coming into this game after playing a blitzkrieg knock of 83 runs off just 44 balls in the second T20I. He will look to contribute to the team in a similar fashion in this ODI game as well.
  • Ish Sodhi, the right-arm spinner was the leading wicket-taker of the T20I series, scalping five wickets in two T20I matches.
  • Chris Greaves was the top run-getter for Scotland, with 68 runs in two T20I matches. He also picked a wicket in the second T20I.

Pitch Report

  • The pitch at Grange Cricket Club has been a little inclined towards batters as we have seen in the latest T20I game played at the venue.
  • For the 50-Overs, we can expect the pacers to get some early movement with the new ball while for the batters, the surface will ease out with time. A score of 280-300 is easily on the cards.
