Rishabh Pant Bags Unique Milestone With Merciless Storm Vs Mohit Sharma In IPL 2024

After trashing GT's Mohit Sharma for 62 runs in a mere 18 deliveries, DC captain Rishabh Pant surpassed Usman Khan to become the batter with the most runs off a single bowler in a T20 game.

As Delhi Capitals hosted Gujarat Titans at Arun Jaitley Stadium for an IPL 2024 season matchup, home captain Rishabh Pant activated his inner beast to slam pacer Mohit Sharma left, right, and center. 

After settling in initially, Pant exploded with an unbeaten 88 that tormented the GT team. His extraordinary knock consisted of five fours and eight sixes.

Pant achieves unique feat

Interestingly, out of Pant's final score of 88* runs, 62 came against fast bowler Mohit Sharma. The DC skipper absolutely pumped Mohit out of the contest with a 31-run final over to lead DC to a 224 final score.

With 62 runs in 18 deliveries against Mohit, Rishabh Pant became the batter with the most runs off a bowler in any T20 game. 

Previously, Pakistan's Usman Khan held the record after he hit Qais Ahmed with 54 runs in 12 balls in PSL.

Not only that, with the onslaught, Pant jumped to third place in the orange cap list for most runs in the edition.

While Pant's knock propelled DC to a mammoth total, GT fought till the final ball but fell short of just four runs at the end.

That being said, it has been a dream comeback for Rishabh Pant, to say the least. After surviving a near fatal car accident, he stunned the world with a speedy comeback for IPL and is now finally regaining his original form just weeks before the commencement of T20 World Cup.
