Virat Kohli looked in pristine touch during his knock against Pakistan. In reality, Kohli only 4 fours and a six for his 60 runs, but it won't be an exaggeration to say that he hit a few more with his words at the post-match press conference.

Honesty, mutual respect, lack of insecurity. They say, these three are the pillars for a successful relationship.

And, there is no relationship that testifies it to the hilt than Virat's relationship with the legendary MS Dhoni.

So, it wasn't a surprise when Kohli said in the post-match press conference that MS Dhoni was the only person who reached out to him when he left Test captaincy.

Kohli was basically asked about how he feels about all the suggestions that his ex-cricketers and pundits have flooded him with during this lean patch of his.

And, Virat being Virat didn't mince his words. He revealed that out of all cricketers he's played with, it was only MS Dhoni who personally reached out to him when he relinquished Test captaincy.

Virat summed up his relationship with MSD beautifully when he said that it's built on mutual respect and lack of insecurity.

He also suggested that he'd prefer suggestions on a personal basis.

Here's what Virat Kohli said:

"When I left the Test captaincy just one person from my contacts called me and he's played with me and that was MS. We have shared a great bond. I don't want anything from me, he doesn't want anything from me. There's no sense of insecurity over there,"

There are few sights more beautiful in this game than watching leader Dhoni marshal his troops with his most trusted lieutenant in Virat leading the attack from the front.

Kohli's revelation perhaps also answers the question that was on cricket fans' minds when the 33-year-old abruptly posted about his relationship with Dhoni days before the Asia Cup.

In many ways, it proved to be a win-win situation for Team India as the transition was smooth and devoid of baggage or insecurities. Indian cricket was the real beneficiary of their bond.
