The 54-year-old is facing 19 charges on the alleged offences on various dates in the last 6 months. Among the allegations, police said that Michael Slater sent unwanted texts and made intimidating phone calls between December 5 and April 12.

He is also charged with multiple counts of contravening a domestic violence order and breaching bail.

He was helped to get back to his feet by security staff after he collapsed after being denied bail by Magistrate Raelene Ellis. The court heard about his mental health conditions that can result in impulsive and reckless behavior.

The former cricketer represented the Aussies from 1993 to 2001 and played 74 Tests and 42 ODIs in the mentioned duration, scoring 5312 and 987 runs in the respective formats. He is now due to appear in court again at the end of May.
