Abu Dhabi T10 league 2022: Morrisville SAMP Army appoints Lance Klusener as head coach

Former Proteas all-rounder Lance Klusener has been chosen as the head coach of Morrisville SAMP army for the 2022 edition of the Abu Dhabi T10 league 2022. Along with Klusener, Trevor Penney and James Foster have been appointed as the assistant coach and batting-wicket keeping coach, respectively.

All three are very much capable of their roles while demonstrating their skills in their prior stints as coaches. Klusener has worked in the T10 league before with Bangla Tigers, adding to his credentials, he has also overseen international sides like Afghanistan, South Africa and Zimbabwe, along with some IPL franchises.

Penney and Foster, too, have done a commendable job with their knowledgeable skill set. While Penney has led various IPL & CPL sides, including his current setup at Royals, Foster was the batting consultant at Glamorgan, fielding coach at KKR in 2020 and current head coach of Peshawar Zalmi in PSL.

What Klusener said on joining the side

"It's great to be back in the Abu Dhabi T10, and I am really looking forward to making a big splash this time with the Morrisville SAMP Army. 

"I am really glad to see the players that have already brought on board and hope we can all sync well and drive the team towards glory. The T10 is a really exciting format, and we are here to win."

Meanwhile, SAMP Army have already signed David Miller, Anrich Nortje, Moeen Ali and Shimron Hetmyer for the upcoming season scheduled to be played from 23rd Nov to 4th Dec in Abu Dhabi.
