Rohit Sharma made a sarcastic story post on his Instagram handle praising the trio of Indian youngsters Yashasvi Jaiswal, Sarfaraz Khan and Dhruv Jurel for emerging as heroes in India's magnificent win in the Rajkot Test against England.

The Indian captain and veteran opener took a sly dig at a section of prominent faces, who had expressed their concerns over the inexperience and lack of depth in his understrength squad, with Jaiswal playing only his seventh Test and Sarfaraz and Jurel making their debuts in the hardest format.

While Jaiswal continued his astonishing rise in Test cricket with a second consecutive double century, Sarfaraz made a pair of half-centuries and Jurel contributed with a handy first-innings 46 besides being exceptional behind the stumps.

After a rare blip in the first-innings of the Test match, Jaiswal cameback roaring at the English attack with his swashbuckling knock of 214 not out in the second-innings. It was the youngster's third hundred plus score in a very young career for India and also a special consecutive double ton.

Sarfaraz, who earned the chance to don his India Test cap after a painstaking wait despite undergoing a bumper run in first-class cricket, made an enterprising 62 in the first-innings to contribute to India's imposing total of 445. The explosive youngster then made another fifty to extend India's lead to an insurmountable 556.

Of the trio, Jurel didn't get complimented as much but was perhaps the team's biggest long-term positive. Making his debut in the absence of Rishabh Pant and Ishan Kishan, the Uttar Pradesh lad showed he can be a serious backup option for the future, looking really solid for his knock in the first-innings and exhibiting wonderful glovework against pacers and spinners.
