Mohammed Siraj has been one of world's most improved cricketer in the last couple of years or so. He has made himself a critical asset for India across formats and has delivered best-ever figures against Sri Lanka in ODI cricket. His swing and seam was just unbelievable on the pitch that was not a green-top by any stretch of imagination. It was just sheer class and world-class skills from Siraj and he has etched his name in the history books with this memorable performance in the Asia Cup final.

Sri Lanka were eventually bowled out for 50 as Siraj picked six wickets and Hardik Pandya got three wickets to clean up Lankans with great style and swag. Siraj in an interview after Sri Lanka's innings said that he missed out on taking five-wicket haul last time in Sri Lanka. He added that he just tried to bowl in right areas and got the fifer in this final. He stated that whenever he plays ODI cricket, he tries to swing the ball and he got more swing in this game.

"Last time against Sri Lanka, I picked up four wickets and I couldn't pick up a fifer. But you get what is written in your destiny. I just tried to hit the right areas and I got a fifer today. To be honest, whenever I play with the white ball, I try to swing the new ball. I got more swing while bowling today as compared to the previous games in this Asia Cup."

Siraj also added that that he tries to make batter drive and bowl full to get assistance from the pitch and does not try to get wickets and just concentrates on his lines and lengths which provides him great rewards.

"I tried to ask the batters to drive. So I pitched it up. There is plenty of assistance from the pitch. So I tried not to go after wickets. I stuck to bowling good lines and lengths and reaped rewards for it."

Siraj has bagged plenty of records like being the fastest bowler ever to take five-wicket haul (16 balls). He also became the first Indian bowler to pick four wickets in an over.
