Nasser Hussain, former England cricket captain, lauded Jasprit Bumrah's exceptional bowling performance in the recently concluded second Test between India and England. In an article for 'Sky Sports,' Hussain credited Bumrah's magical spell in the first innings as the decisive factor in India's series-levelling victory.

Bumrah's stunning figures of 6/45 in England's first innings dismantled the visitors, leaving them reeling at 253 on what was deemed a good batting track. Reflecting on Bumrah's bowling prowess, Hussain remarked:

"I think, really, it was just the magic of Jasprit Bumrah that was the difference. He got three-for today (Monday), but it was that incredible spell in the first innings, 6-45, that blew away England for 253 on a really good, flat pitch,"

"Sometimes you can be critical of your own team, look at your performance and say, 'what could we do better?' But sometimes you also have to just just doff your cap to the opposition and say they were touched by genius.

"That's exactly what happened. That spell from Bumrah in England's first innings was genius. Reverse swing, with his slightly unorthodox action and the way he leans across to the offside, he creates angles," he added.

He highlighted Bumrah's ability to create angles with his unorthodox action, causing trouble for batters. Bumrah's dismissal of key English batsmen, including Joe Root and Ollie Pope, showcased his dominance. Hussain particularly noted Bumrah's delivery to Ben Stokes, which left the English all-rounder stunned, as he "dropped his bat in disbelief."

Looking ahead to the remainder of the series, Hussain predicted a fierce contest, anticipating India to come back stronger with the potential return of players like Virat Kohli and KL Rahul. Despite England's resilience, Hussain emphasized the need for them to elevate their performance to match the challenge posed by a formidable Indian side.

As the cricketing world awaits the third Test in Rajkot on February 15, Hussain's words underscore the anticipation surrounding Bumrah's continued brilliance and the intense battle between two competitive teams. While there are reports that Bumrah might be rested for this test, there are rumors that Mohd. Siraj would return to the game.
