As he gears up for a return to competitive cricket via the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), legendary Chennai Super Kings (CSK) skipper MS Dhoni sought blessings at Maa Dewri Temple in Tamar on Monday (February 5).

With CSK's great leader hoping to defend his team's coveted crown in IPL 2024 in March-May, Dhoni visited the famous Temple in Tamar in Ranchi and went through the rituals for good fortunes ahead of the 17th edition of the marque T20 league.

It is understood that Dhoni has a special faith in the place and has been a frequent visitor of the temple since his playing days for India. Having retired from international cricket in August 2020, the wicketkeeper-batter now took blessings for his IPL franchise as they strive for their sixth IPL title.

MS Dhoni Seeks Blessings Before IPL 2024

After spending much of last year healing and recovering from the knee surgery post IPL 2023, Dhoni recently entered planning and preparation mode for the next season of the T20 carnival. The 42-year-old was seen facing throwdowns at indoor nets in Ranchi and will be picking up steam in practice as the IPL 2024 looms large in the picture.

Once again, Dhoni has speculations rife whether it will be his last edition of the IPL or not. A question that he has dodged since the 2020 iteration of the league, which was his first after retiring internationally. As always, the cricketer has been keeping his cards close to the chest, having declared he wishes to bid adieu in front of the passionate CSK fans in Chennai.

With the mega auction for IPL 2025 upon CSK, however, it is considered likely that Dhoni would be contemplating his future as his absence will leave a major vacuum but also allow the franchise to rebuild under a new skipper.
