India's highly-rated all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja continued his impressive form with the bat, scoring a fighting century against England at his home ground in Rajkot on the first day of the third Test, helping his side stay in the game.

Jadeja's knock of 110* consisted of nine fours and two sixes as he stood against the pace of Mark Wood and James Anderson while handling English spinners well. His innings started with skipper Rohit Sharma, who smashed 131 as they complimented each other well.

After the game, Jadeja's wife, Rivaba Jadeja, who was in the news for the wrong reasons a few days back, praised his husband for playing such a vital knock that too at their home ground. Rivaba expressed her admiration for the left-hander who made them proud.

Jadeja's knock was mainly flawless, but the major setback arrived for him when he was nearing his hundred on the score of 99 as a major miscommunication happened between him and debutant Sarfaraz Khan, causing the latter to return to the pavilion courtesy of a wonderful throw from Mark Wood.

His celebrations seemed muted as the guilt of running out his partner was heavy on his mind, for which he duly apologized on his Instagram account after the game.

However, he will return tomorrow to continue batting for the side with Kuldeep Yadav, as India ended day one with a score of 326 for the loss of five wickets.
